Raw Honey - Chale
Honey from Chale, Isle of Wight. 227g.
Chale bees live in a very rural area with lots of wild flowers. One of our newest apiary sites, this honey is light in colour but thick and smooth in texture. After observing the pollen that the bees were bringing in, we think they were getting some of their nectar from burdock plants.
Raw honey is unpasteurised and lightly filtered, removing only the largest particles while leaving as much pollen and natural goodness as possible. You may find a thin layer of beeswax rises to the top of the honey; this is a natural part of the settling process and is perfectly edible although you can remove it if you prefer.
All raw honey will crystallise, depending on the water content and which nectars the bees have used. If you prefer your honey runny, just warm it gently in a bowl of warm water, or near a radiator or sunny windowsill. Please don't put it in the microwave because this will destroy all the lovely goodness that the bees work so hard to include.
